At 7am I’m usually getting up for work, cursing the fact that I have to wake up and leave my cosy bed because I am so not a morning person! But lately I’ve been dragging myself out of bed and making my way across London to get to the yoga studio to greet the day with a 7am practice because I love how awake and focused I am when I arrive at the office. Here’s what I keep in my yoga kit for an early morning practice…
Yoga Kit
Most importantly, I bring clothes to practice in! I prefer a hot flow early in the morning, and my go-to outfit includes Sukishufu leggings and a crop top, which have been designed with sweat-wicking materials, making them ideal for a heated practice. These are the Suki Leatherback Bandeau in Black Foil Gloss and Suki Leatherback Leggings in Universe Taupe Long*, which (thankfully!) don’t go opaque when it’s time to downward dog. Full disclosure: I know the fantastic woman behind the brand (oh hey, Caroline!) but even if I didn’t I’d still be happy to rock this gear in the studio.
Hair
After all the sweating with my hair pulled back I feel like I need to wash my hair before seeing my colleagues and clients. I like to use Alterna’s Caviar Replenishing Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner, followed by Alterna’s Caviar Seasilk Oil Gel – which does my curls well when left to air dry. (Because no way will I have time to dry my hair fully before work in the 30 minutes between class ending and when I need to leave the studio!) It’s a simple routine, but it does the trick.
Body
Tom’s of Maine is the antiperspirant deodorant I’ve got at the moment, leftover from my last visit to the USA because it’s not available in the UK. For body lotion I’ve been reaching for this small container of Whish Body Butter which I received in a Birchbox a while back, and after my post-class shower I slather it on to help keep my skin moisturised.
Skincare
It’s a hot class, so I make sure I’ve got what I need to cleanse my skin and prep it for a day at the office! At the moment my kit includes First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser, My Little Beauty’s Energising Mist, REN Clarimatte Toner, Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, Omega 3 Optimum Skin Serum Oil and LouLouBelle Calendula Purifying Moisturiser*.
And there you have it – the contents of my yoga kit! What do you put in your gym bag?
