Tan suede skirts are proving to be one of the new ‘it’ items this autumn / winter, and of course I wanted to try one out in my wardrobe! (Confession: I bought 5 different styles to try on at home before settling on this one…) But considering I didn’t have anything this colour in my wardrobe already, I wanted to make sure it really worked for me. So, I gave myself a challenge: style the skirt for three occasions in ways that you feel confident wearing and you can keep it. 

Without further waffling let me show off my second look: Going Out Style.

For this look I wanted to keep the top white (I just love how it really pops against the skirt!), so I swapped the office button down for an unstructured vest top. This one is soft and has movement, which I think compliments the how structured the skirt is. A top in black or denim or breton stripes would also work well here!

Because the top has a V neck – and I’m intending to wear this out for an evening! – I wanted to wear a statement necklace. I picked this one up on ASOS, and I love the triangle silhouette for wearing with V necks, but any statement necklace would do.

Lastly: the shoes. I put on my trusty heeled ankle boots which I love to wear on nights out, and which I think go with pretty much everything! If I wasn’t wearing tights I’d probably have put on a pair of open toe heeled sandals, ideally ones with a platform to play up the 1970’s vibes. I don’t have a pair of over-the-knee boots (yet…!), but I think black ones in that style would look ace with this outfit.

I’d wear this outfit to dinner and drinks (or maybe my next date night!), but probably night for a night out dancing – I’d want something a bit more sparkly for that. Also something machine washable incase a drink is spilled on me! This outfit would be great for post-work drinks, all I’d need to do is change the shirt before leaving the office, and either wear the heels to work or swap flats for them.
