Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day, and on Sunday Jeff and I popped over to The Spoke in Islington, North London, to treat ourselves to a hot breakfast before rolling up our sleeves for a day of spring cleaning.
The Spoke is a locally owned restaurant on Holloway Road, near to Archway tube station. They serve breakfast (and, as it turns out, it’s a delicious breakfast!) and boast burgers and cocktails for the later hours.
How gorgeous is this interior? Those windows are to die for.
I started my day with a latte, and Jeff, who’s not a coffee lover, went for a Chai Latte.
Oh hey there! I’ll be feeling a bit more awake after this.
Jeff ordered the breakfast sandwich (bacon and egg on a brioche) and I went for the mushroom and poached egg, which is hidden over on the lunch menu.
The rocket salad, sautéed mushroom, poached egg and buttered toast were, amazingly, even more delicious that they look in the picture! I left a happy bunny with a full tummy.
It was the first day of spring, yet still fairly chilly, so I traded the knitwear for a cosy jumper.
I’ve been loving slogan tops lately, and I picked up this one by Maison Scotch in the January sales.
Though it was technically the first day of spring, it certainly didn’t feel like spring! So I bundled up in my white coat (Oasis, from the January sales way back in 2014!) and Pieces scarf. I paired this with my comfy gold Superga trainers and a pair of Gap blue jeans to channel my inner warmer weather, sun shining thoughts!
Much love, Katie xo
