In 2023 I went to Manchester for a long weekend. My husband had a two-day event to attend, and I hadn’t yet visited the city so viewed it as an opportunity to explore with my camera, meeting him in the evenings for dinner before bedtime at the hotel.

For two days I had the luxury of walking around the city solo, taking the time I wanted to frame shots and monitor reflections in the glass before I pressed the shutter. I was drawn to the colours, fonts and textures that create the vibrant backdrop Manchester is known for. As if each of these details is a fingerprint from the people who made these creative choices, leaving their mark on the city for others to appreciate.
