Daily motivation is something I’ve struggled to find while staying so close to home for so many months, away from friends and colleagues, without the stimulation of new sights, sounds and smells, so I’ve set myself some goals to try to help with staying motivated – and one of them is to walk 100km this month. Art is also one of the things I miss the most with lockdowns, so walking 4 hours round trip in the freezing cold for this opportunity was a no brainer. Continue reading

Saving time, money and CO2 emissions travelling by train
Holiday incoming! I’ve always wanted to travel around Europe by rail, and on 29th February we set of for that adventure! But how did it measure up in terms of time, money and CO2 compared to a plane holiday? Continue reading
Wear what you love
Apparently flute sleeves and cold shoulders are out, peasant tops and tiered skirts are in. And as much as I like trends, I like this top more. So I’m going to keep wearing it. This fast fashion top from 2017 is not something I’d buy again for so many reasons (blended fibres so can’t be … Continue reading
Rewearing what we own is the most sustainable option
Another day, another old outfit. This dress is from Topshop 2017, which is a brand I stopped shopping with because of the sexual assault and racist accusations made against Philip Green. Not buying new for holidays
Last summer, for the first time in my adult life, I bought no new clothing or accessories for a weeklong holiday in Spain. AMSTERDAM, 1 MARCH 2020
Our second day in Amsterdam was a blustery one, as you can tell from this photo! See what I wore and we got up to on day two of our 14 day, 7 city trip. Continue reading
AMSTERDAM, 29 FEBRUARY 2020
In the past whenever I’ve gone on holiday I’ve had a big suitcase. My mentality was to just chuck it all in and figure it out later. But this trip was different: we planned to visit 7 cities in 14 days, and I didn’t want to be lugging a big case around every two days. Continue reading
Only buy what makes your heart sing
Only buy what makes your heart sing. 🎶 I bought this dress, bag, shoes and denim jacket for the same reason: I tried them on / picked the items up and thought “this has got to be mine”. I like to listen to that voice, because those items always become my most worn. When it … Continue reading
The trouble with flying
Did you know? Aviation is one of the fastest-growing polluters and currently accounts for about 2% of global emissions. Taking a long-haul flight generates more carbon emissions than the average person in dozens of countries around the world produces in a whole year. (“How your flight emits as much CO2 as many people do in … Continue reading
