As an avid reader of Caroline Hirons’ blog I’d heard lots about the Pixi Glow Tonic, and as someone with acneic skin I was pretty keen to try this toner with 5% glycolic acid, aloe vera and ginseng. So when she blogged that she would be at Pixi’s Get Ready to GLOW event, I decided to pop by after work, check it out, say hi, and treat myself to a Pixi Glow Tonic.

It was an evening of makeup, beauty talk, macaroons and prosecco – certainly my kind of evening! The queue to get into thePixi store in Fouberts Place was about a 30-45 minute wait, but while we waited we were treated to snacks, drinks, and chatted with the friendly ladies running the event.
Once inside, we were able to have Pixi makeovers to try out products of our choice (I wanted to try the Flawless Beauty Primer, which I was actually pretty impressed by), enjoy more sweet nibbles, talk to Caroline Hirons for a few minutes about our skin concerns, and shop around.
While waiting to talk to talk to Caroline I got to chatting with Amanda Bell about makeup art and modeling, and one thing lead to another and she ended up putting primer and foundation on one of my hands like she’d do for an editorial shoot. I wish I took a picture, because I really couldn’t believe how perfect my hand looked! Perhaps I should consider a career in hand modeling. 😉
When I had a chance to talk with Caroline (she was so busy the entire time – I really admire her energy and passion to talk with so many of in so much depth about our personal skin concerns) Amanda kindly offered to take a photo of us together, which was very sweet of her. Caroline and I chatted about acneic skin and how to care for it, and then went off on a bit of a tangent about travelling to the USA and jet lag. (She’d been back from her LA trip for about a week at that point, and I’d been back from the USA for about three days).
Afterwards I had a bit of a browse around the store, but before leaving I made sure to purchase a bottle of the Pixi Glow Tonic, which has made its way into my daily routine and I’ll need to review soon!
Have you tried any of the Pixi products? Do you have a favourite?
