Review: Jane Iredale Longest Lash Mascara

For the second year running, Jane Iredale has won the Gold Award in the Make-up category of the FreeFrom Skincare Awards, this time for the Longest Last Mascara. (Last year they scooped the Gold Award for their Eye Pencil.)

After winning the award, I was lucky enough to receive a sample to try out and review.

The Longest Lash Mascara* is designed to lengthen and thicken lashes. It is different from typical mascara formulations in that most of the water typically found in mascara has been replaced by algae extracts, which is meant help condition lashes, stop breakage and promote growth.It also uses tribehenin, which is a natural starch for thickening, to help fill out lashes and make them appear fuller. This mascara is free of chemical preservatives, fragrance, shellac or lacquers.

With use, I find that my lashes don’t feel stiff once the mascara dries, which means I can easily build up coverage later in the day (while I love to pile on the mascara for the evening, at the office I prefer a more subtle look!). I find this mascara doesn’t flake off after hours of wear, which means I’m not sneaking to the loo throughout the day to check that my makeup is still where I intend it to be.

Above is a look I’ve created using this mascara, along with my other Jane Iredale products* and new So Susan lip cream. (Save for the bold lip colour!) I love how the products really suit my skin, and help me look like a better version of my natural self. With the mascara* in particular, I find that one coating gives me the right amount of coverage for a casual daytime look.

It’s safe to say that I’m happy to add the Longest Lash Mascara* to my beauty kit!
