London Fashion Week kicked off last Thursday, and just in time the September My Little Box arrived on Friday with a fashion theme, dressing for the season. I say this almost every month, but I think this is my new favourite box theme…
This month, My Little Box has aimed to provide the Fashion Week essentials – hair spray, red lips, nail decals, glowing skin, AW accessory and even a tipple to enjoy at the after parties! And lucky for me, each item left my eyes growing wider and wider with excitement.
First up: the scarf. It’s from an exclusive collaboration with American Vintage, and features a diamond design with dot details. It’s a gorgeous colour grey, and will look fab with a leather jacket or classic tan Mac when tied or draped around the neck. However, it’s most likely to end up around my head with a turban knot.
I was surprised when I found the wee bottle of Cointreau in the box, but not at all disappointed. Especially when I noticed the booklet of Cointreau Fizz recipes. They look so good and refreshing! While I’d have loved to pop this open to enjoy instantly, I am saving this little bottle for a special occasion, such as Friday. Or should I say Friyay!
The nail decals by alfa.k are a sweet touch, offering easy nail art with the totally on-trend graphic chic style. I think they’ll look best over white nails, and I’m going to save these for a party weekend to make sure the most amount of eyes can see them. And appreciate them, too. (i.e.: make the most of them!)
For this month’s three beauty products we have a La Roche-Posay BB Cream, My Little Beauty rep lip colour and Kérastase styling spray.
I’m excited to see the Kérastase Spray à Porter sample sized bottle in this month’s box because it’s meant to add texture and volume, and also help keep curls in check. All things I like my hair styling products to do. The My Little World magazine also has four braid tutorials, so I’m looking forward to giving those a go with this spray to help. Wish me luck!
When I saw the La Roche-Posay BB Cream my mouth nearly fell open, and my husband let out a laugh. You see, I’d had my eye on this product for a while, and even had it in my hands, debating a purchase, at the airport in Madrid. I didn’t get it that day, but no matter – here it is! I haven’t tried it yet, but I have high hopes for it.
Finally, the Red Dingue lip colour by My Little Beauty. It has a raspberry red hue and if the amount of scrubbing I needed to do to erase the traces of the practice swatch is anything to go by, it’ll have some impressive long-lasting coverage! Fingers crossed it’s not drying, because I’ll be putting this to the test ASAP.
