New year, new month, new My Little Box delivery! For the first box of 2016 I received the My Little Wish Box. Here’s what I found inside…
If only it were warm enough to wear a backless dress like that – it’s far too cold in London at the moment!
Every now and again the My Little Box guys decorate the sides of the box to match the theme, and I loved these little positive wishes from them.
As excepted, the first thing to see inside the box was a print. This particular typographical layout doesn’t totally gel with my style, but I do appreciate the inspirational quote.
Now, this is interesting! For the past year I’ve been receiving My Little World, the magazine created by My Little Box, and this month I’ve received Wish. And that’s no mistake: the guys at MLB have, in fact, done a bit of a re-brand on their magazine. Not only does it have a new look and feel, but it’s also got a new mission statement. It feels a bit more grownup and completely appeals to the Pinterest lover & Instagram obsessive in me. I’m instantly more excited about the mag than I ever have been.
Why, hello! You’re super pretty. Next up is this cute little diary (or planner, for my American pals).
I’m impressed that it’s hard covered and has an elastic to keep it closed. (I love, love, love when journals have that! Basically a prerequisite of anything I buy.) And while I mourn that there is no ribbon to mark my place (sob!) the little perforated tear out corners will do the trick.
My one (and only!) real criticism is that we received the diary in January. I get why we did (after all, it is the start of a new year!) but I think it’d be more practical if it came in December’s box (when people begin to think about getting planners for the year ahead), or even November’s (before people have made a decision on getting a planner). All that said I, erm, stopped buying planners when I left uni. But I like this one, so I think I’m going to use it to plan blog content.
From my past French lessons I thought petits riens meant little nothings, but Google Translate has told me it means little things. Which makes sense because there are some really cute little things inside.
By which, of course, I mean bracelets!
I like the intention of sending the ribbon bracelets to others, and I’ve already got a few friends and family members in mind! Though I think I’ll keep Say YES to new adventures bracelet for myself. And probably use it as a bookmark (in the diary, perhaps?) instead of a bracelet.
The last bracelet in the set is in the ‘friendship style’ that’s really popular at the moment. I think it’s really cute, and I’m excited to wear it.
Drumroll, please: it’s time for the three beauty products!
The Miracle Wake Up Cream from Garnier is new, and retails at £12.99 for 50ml in the UK. Which means this product has basically offset the cost of the entire box. (I love when that happens!) It’s meant to bring radiance back to knackered complexions and revive tired-looking skin, as well as help smooth lines and wrinkles.
Then there is the My Little Beauty lip balm, which smells deliciously of vanilla.
Finally, we’ve got a travel sized bottle of the REN Rosa Centifolia 3-in-1 Cleansing Water. REN is a brand I’ve got a lot of love for (I’ve been a fan of each of their products that I’ve tried so far!), and while micellar and similar cleansing waters don’t feature heavily in my day-to-day life, I’m more than happy to pop this into the cupboard for the next time I travel and can’t properly cleanse.
I’m a really big fan of this month’s box, and between the diary, bracelets and the array of beauty products it’s one of my favourite My Little Box packages overall!
