Ever since I tried the Alexa for Eyeko Eye Do Mascara and Liquid Eyeliner last summer I’ve wanted to write about them, but just never seemed to get around to it… until now.
Both the Eye Do Mascara (£20 via Eyeko) and Eye Do Liquid Liner (£15 via Eyeko) are part of the Alexa Chung for Eyeko collaboration that was unveiled in late 2013, and I first tried them as part of a pay day treat where I indulged in Space NK.
The eyeliner goes on smoothly, and you can make the line either thinner or thicker depending how much pressure you apply as you draw with it (example of what I mean on my hand in the photo above) so it’s versatile for both subtle and dramatic looks. It also lasts all day, which is brilliant. I find this eyeliner works a treat for cat eye looks, and it’s been my staple day-to-day liner for the past five months.
The mascara is also a gem, and with it I’ve not had the problem of getting any excess product around my eyes. It doesn’t make my lashes clumpy, and they look wonderfully full and long. It also lasts all day without getting flaky, which is fab. Definitely a keeper!
However, because both these products have such strong staying power it can be a bit tricky to remove at the end of the day – and I like to make sure that all of my makeup is off my face before I go to bed. This is an absolute non-negotiable for me. Luckily, my RMS Beauty Raw Coconut Cream (£12.50 for 70g from BeautyBay.com) basically melts both products right off and leaves my eye area squeaky clean!
