Any excuse to dress up is an excuse I’m willing to take, and Saturday night dinner is always a good one! Recently for a night out I channeled my inner 1970s for a look featuring fringe on fringe with fringe (i.e. bangs, for my American friends)!
The first layer of fringe was on my handbag, a black suede duffel by Mango (past season). I bought it on a whim and then looked at it for about six months before finally realising just how essential it is to my wardrobe. (And by that I mean it’s been my summer handbag of choice for the past few weeks!)
The next round of fringe was on my kimono, a several seasons old Topshop piece that I also picked up as an impulse purchase. Do you ever find that, when you impulse buy something, it ends up working its way into your day-to-day capsule collection? Because I definitely do!
The top is from H&M, a complete steal in the sales at £3! It was part of their winter collection, but I also love wearing velvet on summer evenings to help make a look feel a bit more luxe. The boots are by Frye, and were a birthday gift from my mom a couple of years ago.
On this evening I was meeting friends at Dishoom for dinner – starting with a round of cocktails!
Check out our feast!
So many delicious dishes for everyone to share.
I was eating meat-free on the day, and the Dishoom team helped me pick out this selection to suit my dietary requirements. (And if I’m being honest I kind of loved having dishes all to myself and not having to share!)
Bathroom selfie!
On this particular night one of my long-time friends from the USA was in London, and there was no way we were going home without a photo together.
Much love, Katie xo
Love the colors you choose for this look!
