I love it when my American friends visit London, and recently my friend Jacky (who I’ve known since 2005 – two thousand and five!!) was here for a few days between other UK adventures. Not about to miss a chance to catch up, I ended up spending an entire weekend traipsing around with her.
On Sunday, we started out in Dalston for the record fair. My mate Laura had a stall setup for her record label, and I wanted to say hello and check it out.
From there we hopped on the bus to Netil Market, where we indulged in mojitos and loaded up fries.
Which, of course, wasn’t without a picture of us together!
I was pretty pleased with my outfit and the sunshine, so at this moment I decided: yeah, this outfit is totally going on the blog!
After a round we continued on the East London scene, checking out Broadway Market (which is closed on Sundays, in case you didn’t realise!), Columbia Road Flower Market and Brick Lane.
Not one to let the sunshine pass me by, I went all out in this summer playsuit by Parisian (via ASOS) and my fave Clarks sandals (last season). The bag is by Mango (also past season), I stacked on the bangles and put on my latest fave statement necklace; a fierce perspex tiger head by Suzywan (via ASOS). The sunnies are indeed Ray-bans, and they’re prescription.
Oh hey East London grafitti!
After having a good long walk and nosey through the flower market we beelined for Brick Lane where we debated bagels or market food.
Craving a sit down and something warm, we ended up with market food! I ended up with my favourite dish; a vegan-friendly mixed plate from the Ethiopian food stall. Delish!
But first, let me take a selfie…
By now the day was nearly over, so we treated ourselves to another cocktail before hugging goodbye and parting ways.
Till next time!
Much love, Katie xo
