Introducing Melvita Nectar de Roses Hydrating Day Cream and Fresh Eye-Contour Gel Puffiness and Dark Circles

Organic beauty brand Melvita released several new formulations in June as part of the Nectar de Roses Collection, which incorporates a Rose Centifolia infusion to provide intense hydration to the skin and ensure water retention by maintaining hydrolipidic film. (Or, in my own words: rose properties can help keep skin hydrated, and this particular type of rose seems to do an extra good job of that!) To celebrate the launch they sent me this lovely hamper to get in the spirit of all things hydration!

Keeping on theme, the hamper supports the message of hydration from inside and out with a Nectar de Roses Hydrating Day Cream*, Nectar de Roses Fresh-Eye Contour Gel* and rose infused tea.

Enriched with rose floral water, this eye gel* is specially formulated to be gentle on the eye area while helping to reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles. According to the press release, “it combines moisturising benefits with the draining and decongesting properties of cornflower water. Red seaweed extract invigorates and improves blood flow to boost microcirculation and reduce the blue undertones of dark circles.”

I’ve been trying it out morning and evening for a couple weeks and, like with every other Melvita product I’ve tried so far, I’m happy with how it works! I swapped it with my usual under-eye creams that I use to target dark circles, and am happy to report that the swap didn’t leave me disappointed. I’d be more than happy for this eye cream to be a staple in my skincare kit.

Regular readers will know that I struggle with dehydrated skin, and this light yet creamy moisturiser* is designed to replenish the dermis with moisture – which is perfect for me! It can be used on normal to dehydrated skins and is meant to leave it soft, supple and hydrated. It’s enriched with an infusion of roses with a high concentration of hydrating sugars and rose floral water, and if organic is your thing then you’ll be happy to know it’s made with 100% organic active ingredients.

I’ve been giving this one a go for a couple of weeks, and can certainly confirm the claims about leaving skin soft and hydrated! I didn’t experience patchy makeup on the days I wore it, and also didn’t have any skin irritations from switching to it. Another Melvita winner for me!

Finally: the tea! While not a Melvita product, I love when beauty brands acknowledge that so much of skin health has to start on the inside, and eating a healthy, balanced diet and drinking plenty of water will aid that. Of course treating your skin well on the outside helps, but I’m a believer that if you’re not healthy on the inside, then the outside will reflect!

So, here’s to a few extra cuppas a day in the name of beauty. 😉

Much love, Katie xo
