We all know how to style a cami dress when the weather is warm: add cute shoes, job done. But in the winter? That’s a little trickier. Here are two ways I like to style cami dresses when the sun is shining but the temperature doesn’t match.

This weekend I met my friend Kira (you should totally check out her fashion blog Kira is Wearing) for a coffee, and while the sun was shining I really wanted to wear one of my end-of-season sale buys: this great camisole slip dress in a dark peony. This dress is such a classic style, and was an absolute steal when I took it home for £33. (Not even joking – there was a promotional offer on top of the sale discounts on the day I was in store.)
There was only problem: the weather. It was SO cold.
I could have pulled on my thick black tights, and while I knew it’d look perfectly fine, but I wanted something a little edgier. A little more interesting than simple black tights. (Nothing wrong with black tights by the way – I wear them all the time!) So I layered up with light jeans, V-neck sweater (to show off the lace details at the neckline of the dress), white trainers, leather jacket, and a scarf for the day time. However, I thought I could get two looks out of this and, after quickly pulling off the jumper and swapping the sneakers for heeled boots, I had a look for the evening at the pub.
Have you ever styled jeans with a dress?
Much love, Katie xo
