Always a fan of deep plums and berry lipsticks, I was totally over the moon when I received this Burberry lipstick as a gift – and I couldn’t wait to try it out! Here’s what I think of it…
From classic reds to gothy purples, bold lipsticks are my go-to for nights out. And when I first saw Burberry’s Lip Cover in Bright Plum No.15 (£22.50 via Burberry.co.uk) come out of the tube I knew it would fill that dark-yet-plummy gap in my lipstick collection. It’s a deep berry colour, which I’m totally loving because it’s beautifully bold without crossing into the ‘dark’ territory that many of my purple lipsticks do.
It applies smoothly and evenly, and I can also build the colour which I like. It’s lightweight and feels more like a chapstick/balm, but the colour still stayed on my lips and didn’t rub off while I was eating/drinking. While on nights out dancing I did touch the colour up, but I could easily have gotten away without touchups had I chosen to leave the lipstick safely on my dresser at home.
So far I’ve worn it out twice, and each time I’ve received compliments on the colour – which is always a good sign!
Right now it’s tucked into my handbag for when I need a bit of oomph on the go (or just have a last-minute decision to get an after work drink with friends) and I bet it’ll be there for a while…
This Burberry lipstick was a gift from my beauty blogger buddy Mitra who’s currently working on the upcoming launch of Elate Magazine, a women’s lifestyle freemium publication to be distributed in the Square Mile, after she received it as part of a press sample. She knows just how much I love plum colours, and once she’d gotten what she needed for her research she shared one of the products with me.
Oh my it looks lovely! 🙂 xx

I’m not confident enough to rock a dark lip! So jealous of people like you who do it all year round though! 😀 Good on you! 🙂
