For my first What I Wore post of the year I figured I’d share with you what I wore for my anniversary brunch with Jeff.
You can read more about where we went in yesterday’s post, but for the day itself I decided to go for simple cosiness!
Luckily, even though it was January it really wasn’t too cold out, so I wore my trusty faux fur coat. (This was before the winter properly settled in in London and it was still pretty mild!)
This coat is on its fourth winter now, and it really hasn’t done me wrong throughout that time.
A lover of layers, I piled on a classic denim shirt, oversized cardigan and scarf.
It’s hard to see in these pictures, but I accessorised with the pterodactyl necklace Jeff got me for our first dating anniversary, and the Whistle & Bango postcode bracelet he got me for my birthday last year. (And if you fancy one of your own, you can enjoy £10 off whistleandbango.com with my discount code KATIE10.)
This scarf is my newest favourite (and the only new scarf I bought this season!) and it’s by Liquorish.
The jeans are past season All Saints, but if you wanted to replicate this look then any skinny black / grey jeans would do the trick.
I’m a sucker for boots, and these Frye cowgirl boots are always a hit! (Though I’ve had them for over a year now and they still don’t feel completely broken in. But they sure do look great, so I’ll keep on wearing them.)
Because it was January I layered up with this old knitted cardigan that’s about three sizes too big, but it’s warm and cosy and I like the print so I’m not about to stop wearing it!
Because it was Sunday morning and it’s impossible for me to be on time on a Sunday morning, I skipped washing my hair and twisted it into a top knot instead. (Which is my go-to lazy chic look, in case you didn’t know!)
Recognise these gloves? They’re from the December My Little Magic Box! Same goes for the matching blue nail varnish.
If you read my posts regularly you’ll recognise this bag: it’s a vintage one that I found at a second hand shop in Boston back in 2007 or so. It’s still one of my favourite second-hand finds to this day!
While I wore this outfit to brunch, I’m nearly certain my work colleagues will see me wearing this to the office pretty soon.
And there you have it! The outfit I wore to Sunday brunch to celebrate Jeff and my two year wedding anniversary.
What do you wear to Sunday brunch? Do you reach for leggings and a sweatshirt, or do you dress up in a skirt and heels? Tell me in the comments!
