Photo Diary: Camden Town

1. Camden Town - Canal

Saturday was a busy day for Jeff & me as we really tried to make the most of the warm, dry weather during one of the last (sob!) weekends of summer. After visiting God’s Own Junkyard in Walthamstow we hopped back on the Overground towards Camden Road…

After a relaxing stroll past the beautiful colour houses (I really can not get enough of those – they’re so cute!) and along the canal, we walked down to Chalk Farm to enjoy a drink at Camden Beach at the Roundhouse.

Like it says on the tin, Camden Beach a really lovely beach complete with sand, a fish & chip shop, beach chairs and bath houses – though minus any water. It’s up on the roof of the Roundhouse, and when the weather is nice it can be a really great place to chill out and relax. (Especially if you’re able to nab a beach chair – first come, first served!) There are even several buckets floating about, so if you fancy embracing your architectural abilities you can even create a sandcastle to bring out that child-at-the-beach feeling.

After lounging at the beach we decided to check out the markets. There’s one section in the Stables that reminds us of our honeymoon in Marrakech, so of course we always end up here to check out the silver, leather goods, lampshades and everything else. When we arrived on Saturday this area of the market was winding down, so we ended up taking a few minutes for a wee photo shoot. (Keep your eyes peeled – I’ve got another fashion post coming, sneak peek photo above!)

Camden is one of those places I absolutely love. It was a favourite of mine as a tourist (how can you not love the markets?!) and now that I’m settled in London I love how there are so many pop ups and exciting things to check out there, like the beach – not to mention some awesome pubs just off the high street.

Do you love Camden? What’s your favourite thing about it?
