I’m really excited for spring – and warmer weather! – so I’ve started to go through my wardrobe to put together outfits to wear when the weather is right. First up: this simple monochrome look.
I’ll admit: I’ve not been wearing these jeans nearly as much as I thought I would when I first posted about them back in December. Mostly because they’re white and I don’t want to embarrass myself if I spill my mug of tea down my front. (I’ve done it before – though luckily in not white clothes – and it’s not ideal!)
But, for the sake of fashion and getting good use out of the clothes I already have in my closet, I decided to challenge myself to put together an outfit!
I started with this relaxed fit gingham button down because I enjoyed the monochrome look, and also because skinny jeans and relaxed fit / boyfriend style style buttons are one of my easy go-to styles.
Next I popped on a pair of ankle boots so I looked smart enough for the office and cool enough for a drink after work. But I think ankle boots also work for looking a bit more ‘put together’ at the weekends when you’re just not feeling at all ‘put together’ on the inside.
Spring in London can be damp, rainy and wet with patches of sunshine and blue skies, so I decided to keep it practical with a leather jacket and oversized scarf to keep me warm with layers.
I also kept the accessories monochrome with my bespoke Whistle + Bango* bangle and Nixon watch.
For the sake of transparency – and saving you some money if you fancy your own – I’m a Whistle+ Bango brand ambassador, so if you fancy designing your own bespoke bangle (or getting one of their alphabet or postcode range) you can save £10 off their site with my code KATIE10. Enjoy!

Have you started to plan outfits for spring yet?
