Liz Nehdi’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection Launch at Wolf & Badger

London-based American designer, Liz Nehdi, launched her first collection at Wolf & Badger in Notting Hill last week. I went along to check out the collection (you lot know I love seeing what London designers are up to, and I really like the items Wolf & Badger curate) and have a cheeky cocktail, of course!

Liz Nehdi’s background is in fine art and textile design, which is reflected in the colourful patters and designs of her premiere collection of Spring/Summer 2015 scarves and pocket squares. The collection launch was at Wolf & Badger’s Notting Hill shop, with the store transformed into a space to show off Nehdi’s designs. In the centre of the room, set out on jewellery display cases, were canapés (which included colourful cake pops hand made by one of Nehdi’s super sweet interns!) and at the back of the room, by the Wolf & Badger sign, was a the pun-tastic cocktail bar serving up Liz Royales and Fizz Nehdis.

The event was packed with bloggers and fashion writers all checking out the scarves while sipping on cocktails, nibbling canapés and holding onto their coats and bags (there was a coat check at the back, but it was a bit difficult to reach at times) so it was sometimes difficult to move around the shop to see all of the scarves and pocket squares. On the plus side, it was super easy to meet people and I got to meet a few fellow bloggers and aspiring artists. (*waves hello!*)

Nehdi’s scarves are made of silk and feature psychadelic prints – and several remind me of Impressionist paintings with a brighter, more saturated colour pallet. The collection itself is really pretty, and they’re the type of thing I’d want to wear on a beach or tropical holiday. The pocket squares are about £40 each and the scarves £175 – £225, so, sadly, at that price the scarves are out of my price range for an impulse buy. Still, I can always admire from afar.

The full range is available for perusal and purchase at Wolf & Badger.

What do you think of Nehdi’s designs? When would you wear them? Let me know! xo
